In the first twelve days of May 136,5% of the monthly precipitation fell in Ashgabat

May has not yet reached its half, and 31,4 mm of precipitation or 136,5% of the monthly norm has already fallen in Ashgabat. This is despite the fact that in April there was a serious deficit of precipitation.

Heavy rains occurred from May 11 to 12, and as a result, 12,4 mm of precipitation fell in Ashgabat on May 12, reports the publication meteojurnal.

Short-term thunderstorms in the city will continue in the next two days, predicts the source.

More than normal rainfall fell on most of the country over the 12 days of May. In some areas, for instance, in Serdar (Gyzylarbat) – almost three monthly norms.

April of this year was the fourth warmest since 1891. In May, at the moment, the temperature is below the norm. The hottest day so far was May 6 (+34,2). On some days the maximum daily temperature was 21o-22 o, the minimum per day was +15o.
