A wax sculpture by Spanish painter Salvadora Dali was found in Hawaii. For the last 40 years, it was considered destroyed, writes gazeta.ru.

Earlier the sculpture was in the private collection. Its owner bought it from the painter himself during a meeting in 1978 in Paris.

As the edition notes, now the anonymous collector, who secretly kept the sculpture, sold it to Art International Galleries for an undisclosed amount. Dali’s wax sculpture was used as a model for series of bas relief “"Christ of St. John of the Cross”. Previously, it was believed that the artist destroyed the model after working on the bas relief. The cost of the supposedly destroyed Dali sculpture is estimated at 20 million US dollars.
