President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a telegram of condolences to his Cuban counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez in connection with the tragic consequences of the explosion at the Saratoga Hotel in Havana, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports today.
"On behalf of the people and Government of Turkmenistan, as well as on his own behalf, the head of state conveyed words of empathy and support to the families, relatives and friends of the victims at this difficult moment, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured," the message reads.
The explosion in the Cuban capital thundered on May 6 in the morning. According to the Government of the republic, it claimed the lives of at least 25 people. There are 64 victims in hospitals, including 14 minors. An accident is considered as the main cause of the tragedy.
