The Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh (Parliament) of Turkmenistan ratified Agreements with the Republic of Kazakhstan on land and sea borders today, the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television reported.

"During the regular meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh held in Ashgabat, a Resolution was adopted "On Ratification of the Agreement between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan on the delimitation of the Turkmen-Kazakh state border and the delimitation of adjacent sections of fishing zones in the Caspian Sea", "On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the regime of the Turkmen-Kazakh state border,” the message says.

It should be noted that the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kazakh-Turkmen state border was signed by the Heads of the two states on July 5, 2001 in Astana. On April 18, 2017, an Interstate Agreement on the demarcation of the Kazakh-Turkmen state border was signed there. The adoption of the Agreement on the border regime following the results of the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Ashgabat on October 25, 2021 was the legal completion of work on this issue.

The total length of the Kazakh-Turkmen state border is about 458.3 km.
