President Serdar Berdimuhamedov released Ovezdurdy Khojaniyazov from the post of the Acting Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan.
According to the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television, he was released at an expanded meeting of the State Security Council held today, during which the President of the country pointed out a number of shortcomings in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The introduction of a digital system into the work of the Ministry is at a slow pace, the vast capabilities of which, like modern technologies, are not being used properly to fulfill the tasks facing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Ovezdurdy Khojaniyazov was the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from July 1, 2021. On October 4 of the same year, the Head of State reprimanded him strongly with a final warning "for improper performance of official duties, shortcomings in work". Since March 19, 2022, after accepting the resignation of the full Government in connection with the accession of Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the post of President of Turkmenistan, O. Khojaniyazov was Acting Minister of Internal Affairs.
