A fee of 10-20% of the cost of advertising introduced in Belarus. The President of the country Alexander Lukashenko signed the corresponding decree.
In accordance with the decree “On the Development of Mass Media”, the fee will be 10% of the cost of services rendered when placing outdoor advertising and advertising on transport, 20% - in other cases. It is noted, that the payers of the fee will be advertisers, while VAT on the provision of data transmission services will increase from 25 to 26%.
The social advertising, advertising on the websites of government agencies and state media and in support of sports organizations are included in category of exceptions. Also, the fee will not affect correctional facilities and companies in which 30% of employees – disabled.
As notes the publication vc.ru, the collected money will be used to support the state mass media.
