The composition of the Turkmenistan national hockey team will go to the 2022 World Championship (third division) in group “A” in Luxemburg, has become known, reports the Türkmen Sport.
The Turkmenistan national team includes 20 hockey players from three hockey clubs of the country – “Galkan”, “Shir” and “Oguzhan”. Bayram Allayarov as head coach preparing the Turkmenistan national team for the world championship, under whose leadership Turkmen hockey players won small gold medals in the second division tournament in the program of the VIII Asian Winter Games in Sapporo (Japan) in 2017, in 2018 they won in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) qualifying tournament for the World Cup with the participation of four teams, and in 2019 they made their debut at the World Championships in Sofia (Bulgaria), taking third in the third division.
The World Championship in the third division of group “A”, in which Turkmenistan will play, will be held in Luxemburg from 3 to 8 April, 2022.
Turkmen hockey players will play their first match at the World Championship on April 3 against the UAE team. With the Luxemburg team they will play on April 5, with rivals from Taiwan on April 7 and with the game against Turkey will end the tournament on April 8. A ticket to the 2023 World Cup of the second division of group “B” will receive only the winner of the tournament in Luxemburg.
