As writes film.ru, one of the most discussing moments of the last “Oscars” was the blow of Will Smith, that he inflected on Chris Rock, after an unsuccessful joke about the hairstyle of his wife Jada Pinkett Smith. Exactly this, in according to analysts, was the reason for the sharp rise in the rating of the program, which rose from 9,6 million viewers to 17,4 million.
The Film Academy in turn commented on the incident in the official Twitter account, noting that it does not accept violence: “The Film Academy does not support violence in any of its manifestations. Today we are delighted to honor the winners of 94 awards, who deserves this moment of recognition from their fans and film lovers around the world”.
