A concert of two teachers of the Department of Music Pedagogy on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of the first Turkmen composer Danatar Ovezov took place in the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva.
Tenor Meylis Muratgeldiyev and baritone Begench Gaipov performed the best works of the founder of the Turkmen opera, the concertmaster was Maya Beymanova, the “Turkmenistan: The Golden Age” edition reports.
Both vocalists once studied at the Turkmen State Music College named after Danatar Ovezov, and from the same teacher - Aman Amanov, the source notes.
The host of the concert, Keyik Artykova, introduced the audience to the life and work of the outstanding composer.
The concert program included the songs “Leyla”, “No, No”, “Dilberochka”, “For Girls” and others; arias and ariosos from the operas “Shasenem and Garyp” by Danatar Ovezov and Adrian Shaposhnikov, “Leyli and Mejnun” by Danatar Ovezov and Julia Meitus.
The daughters of Danatar Ovezov, teachers of the music school: Aylar and Ayna were present at the evening as guests of honor.
