A detailed image of the Sun was obtained with the help of the Solar Orbiter probe, which was launched to study the closest star to us. The high-resolution images were captured with the help of NASA’s Extreme Ultraviolet Imager and ESA’s Solar Orbiter.

As writes the publication ferra.ru, 25 separate images had to be taken within 4 hours in order to get an image of the entire Sun. The final image, which was put together by NASA as a huge mosaic, has more than 83 million pixels in a 9148 x 9112 gird, which is 10 times the resolution of 4K.

As scientists noted, the resulting image will help to understand the principle of temperature increase in the atmospheric layers of the Sun.
