The Chinese Weightlifting Association has decided not to hold the 2022 World Championships, informs the official website of the International Weightlifting Federation.
The Chinese side agreed to transfer the right to organize competitions to another country. The IWF Executive Board announced the search for new candidates for the right to host the tournament. Any national association interested in organizing competitions may send a letter of intent within 15 days.
The World Weightlifting Championship should be held in Chongqing from 18 to 27 September. Last time China held the World Cup in 1995.
The World Championship was held in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) in 2021.
