Agency "Turkmenaragatnashyk" and UNDP signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation

During the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the specialists from the "Turkmenaragatnashyk" (Turkmen Communications) of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of the country and the UN Development Program signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the area of digital transformation.

According to the UNDP Press release, the Memorandum’s goal is expanding cooperation in the area of public administration.

In Turkmenistan, the system of interdepartmental data interchange will be introduced as well as the regulatory legal framework will be improved, based on the international experience in this area.

Thus, implementing the national priorities in the area of digital development set in the "Concept of Development of Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025" and the "State Program of Development of Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025" is planned.

UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Narine Sahakyan noted that in a rapidly changing world, new technologies and innovative solutions play an ever-greater role.

As part of the agreements’ implementation between Turkmenistan and UNDP, enhancement of the country's digital capacity in the area of statistics, banking, finance, customs procedures, civil registration and other public services is planned.
