Russia canceled restrictions on flights to Turkmenistan and other seven countries, informs the press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency.

“In accordance with the decision of the Russian Federation Government, the restrictions previously introduced to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on irregular and regular flights to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Iran have been canceled on March 9, 2022”, says the report.

It is noted, that the flights will be carried out on a reciprocal basis of the provisions of bilateral intergovernmental agreements on air traffic and separate agreements of the aviation authorities.

Russia completely closed borders and also suspended international flights due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2022. The export, cargo, postal, sanitary and humanitarian flights were the exceptions. The flights resumption began in August 2021.

As a reminder, the regular flights between Turkmenistan and Russia suspended today. Countries organize charter flights for removal their citizens. Together with the “Turkmenistan” airline special flights are carried out by the Russian “Siberia”.

Before the coronavirus pandemic, “Turkmenistan” airlines operated regular flights to Moscow, Kazan and St. Petersburg.

“Siberia” opened regular flights on the Moscow-Ashgabat route in 2007. The flights were carried out three times a week.
