Mothers with many children of Turkmenistan were awarded with the title “Ene Mahri”

Mothers with many children of Turkmenistan who gave birth to 8 and more children were awarded with the title “Ene Mahri” (“Maternal tenderness”). Corresponding Decree was signed by the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov today during the meeting of the Government, information program “Vatan” of the Turkmen television reports.

The Head of state also told that in commemoration of the International Women’s Day, he made a decision to present new modern apartments built in the country to mothers, who gave birth to eight and more children.

The Hakimliks are instructed to organize the presentation of the presents to women in a solemn atmosphere on the occasion of March 8, and to mothers with many children, awarded with the high title, of the awards and keys from the new apartments.

The Head of State addressed cordial congratulations with the holiday to “dearest mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, all women of the country, wishing them good health, happiness and prosperity”.

We remind that the honorary title “Ene Mahri” was established in 2008. It is assigned to mothers who have given birth and raised eight or more children. They are awarded the appropriate badge on chest and certificate, a one-time remuneration is paid in the amount of ten times the base amount calculated when assigning pensions and benefits. Mothers who have been awarded the honorary title of Turkmenistan “Ene Mahri” enjoy benefits in cases and in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of Turkmenistan, they are also granted the right to use dental prosthetics services free of charge.

From January 1, 2022, also the implementation of the measures on increase of financial welfare of mothers with many children has started by entering into force the Law “On introduction of amendments and additions to the Turkmenistan population social security Code” where the measures of the support of the mothers with many children are provided. Namely, an increase in lump-sum payments of maternity benefits, a reduction in the retirement age of women who have given birth to eight or more children. Mothers with many children can retire two years earlier, that is, at 52. Those awarded the honorary title of “Ene Mahri” receive an allowance of 30 percent to the pension, child care allowance, disability and social benefits. The amount of the survivor's pension for four or more orphans has also been increased.

The Mejlis of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan also continues the development of the legislative proposal “On state support of families with multiple children”.
