Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan to hold meeting of Intergovernmental Commission on cooperation

The next meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation will be held online. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov reported to the President of Turkmenistan on the preparations for its holding at a Government meeting today.

According to the National Television, the Foreign Minister informed of the meeting agenda that has issues of practical implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level, including the results of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan, held in October last year.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave instructions on the preparation for the upcoming online meeting that should aim at achieving concrete results as the Turkmen leader stressed.

The Head of Turkmenistan noted the importance of the activities of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission in implementing the existing solid potential of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

To recap, the previous meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was held in Ashgabat on December 20, 2021. The Co-Chairs of the Commission are: from the Turkmen side – Deputy Prime Minister Chary Gylydzhov, and from the Kazakh side - First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar.
