The Central Commission for Elections and Referenda in Turkmenistan registered three new candidates for the highest state post at a meeting held today, the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television reported.
According to the functioning legislation in the country, the CEC issued a corresponding Certificate to the nominee from the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (PPPT) – the Director of the Economic Society Vepaly Gurlushik Babamyrat Meredov. Candidates from the Initiative Groups of Citizens of the Akhal and Mary Regions – the Head of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of the Babadaykhan District of the Akhal Region Maksatmyrat Ovezgeldiev and the Director of the Research and Production Center Renewable Energy Sources of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan Kakageldi Saryev were also registered as candidates for the post of the President of Turkmenistan.
Earlier, the Central Election Commission registered four candidates for the highest state post: from the Democratic Party – Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov, from the Agrarian Party - Deputy Head of the Administration of Mary Region Aghajan Bekmyradov, from the Initiative Group of the Lebap Region - Director of the Financial and Economic High Vocational School of the Lebap Region, member of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan Perhat Begenzhov and from the Initiative Group of the Balkan Region – the Chief Doctor of the Sanatorium "Avaza" of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, Deputy of the Mejlis Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Berdimammet Gurbanov.
The campaign to register candidates for the post of President of Turkmenistan continues, the early elections will be held on March 12 this year, and its new outreach stage starts today.
