Today, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived in Beijing at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping to participate in the Opening Ceremony of the XXIV Winter Olympic Games.
On February 5, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Xi Jinping will hold talks during which it is expected to discuss prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation. This was stated by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at a meeting with the Head of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.
It is noted that this will be the first meeting of the leaders of the two states face to face in four years. The Chinese Minister said that the meeting of the Heads of Turkmenistan and China will play an important role in achieving long-term, stable and sustainable development between the countries, especially in such key areas as energy, natural resources extraction, medicine, transport and culture.
