The competition among young roboticists was held in one of the schools in Ashgabat. The students, the creators of robots, held the first engineering competition according to the rules of the Japanese type of sumo martial arts, where they presented their author's cars as wrestlers, announced MIR 24.
In the ring, the tactics and mobility of the robot were evaluated, rather than its weight and dimensions. A variety of machines, created by students of city schools, fought here for the right of the strongest. Schoolchildren come up with techniques for the battle of robots on their own, just as they themselves design, program and assemble their "transformers".
“I assembled my robot in a week. At first, I prepared all the necessary details and then wrote the code. Despite the fact that today I got third place in this competition, I am very pleased with my achievement. Next year I will try to prepare a smarter and stronger robot,” said Allayar Charyyarov, a fifth-grade student of specialized school №. 86 of Ashgabat.
Participants of the first school robot battle in Turkmenistan dream of becoming engineers in the future and creating machines that are already useful in everyday life. The interest of children and youth in information technologies is evidenced by the number of participants in the "robo-sumo" competition - 90 schoolchildren for 9 prizes.
The organizers of the event noted, that the interest of the younger generation in technical sciences and robotics, in particular, is growing every year.
