A snowstorm on the East Coast of the United States caused massive flight cancellations. According to Kommersant, over the past 24 hours the number of canceled flights has reached approximately 1,3 thousand, and about 2,5 thousand flights have been delayed over the last two days.
Heavy snowfall and a blizzard have already forced the authorities of several states, including New York and New Jersey, to declare a state of emergency. In Boston, a record amount of snowfall for the city, in just a day the height of the snow cover reached 60 cm. Due to an accident in the state's power supply system, more than 100 thousand people were left without electricity on Saturday.
The consequences of the failure are being eliminated, but about 50 thousand customers remain without electricity.
