RFU extended the contract with Dmitri Khomukha

The Russian Football Union (RFU) has extended the contract with Dmitri Khomukha, head coach of the Russian youth team (players born in 2002).

52 years old Khomukh, took over the team in February 2017.

Dmitri Khomukha was born in Firyuza, is a graduate of Turkmen football. He started playing football at the FSHM Ashgabat with coach Valery Nepomnyashchy. From the second grade until graduation, he studied at the Youth Sports School and the sports boarding school under Tachmyrad Agamyradov. Khomukh began his career as a football player in 1985 in the Ashgabat team "Kolhozchi", played for the national team of Turkmenistan. As a football player of the Turkmen national team, he participated in the 1998 Asian Games in Thailand. At the highest level, he played for “Metalist” Kharkiv, “Zenit” St. Petersburg, CSKA Moscow, “Shinnik” Yaroslavl and “Terek” Grozny.

As a football player, he became the vice-champion of Russia (1998), the bronze medalist of the Russian championship (1999), the owner of the Russian Cup (2003/2004). Masterfully executed free kicks. Graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture, the Higher School of Trainers. He has a UEFA PRO coaching license. He worked at the Youth Sports School of CSKA.

Under his leadership, the players of the youth national team of Russia won the "gold" of Euro 2013 (under 17 years old) and the "silver" of Euro 2015 (under 19 years old).
