The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
The diplomats discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation, exchanged views on the regional and international agenda in the areas of political and diplomatic contacts, trade and economic cooperation as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges, the Press Service of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.
The parties exchanged views on the progress of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline construction project, stressing the need to intensify work at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
The parties stressed the need for the speedy implementation of the agreements reached at the highest state level in recent years, primarily, during meetings and telephone talks between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with President of the Republic of India Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
