Turkmenistan intends increasing the energy export through Uzbekistan and Iran to the third countries. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stated it at a working meeting held today in Dashoguz Region, the information program "Vatan" of the Turkmen television reported.
"Currently, Turkmen energy is supplied to the neighboring countries - the Islamic Republic of Iran, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, as well as to the Kyrgyz Republic. In addition, we have great possibility to supply it to the third countries through Uzbekistan and Iran," Berdimuhamedov said.
This statement was made on the basis of an analysis of the implementation of the "Concept of Development of the Energy Industry of Turkmenistan for 2013-2020".
As noted, the implementation of this Program made it possible to strengthen the material and technical base of the industry as well as significantly increase the volume of energy produced. Also, over the past seven years, favorable conditions have been set up to increase the reliability of the energy supply to the domestic consumers, increase the volume and expand the directions of its export to foreign countries.
