The first India-Central Asia Summit will be held via video link on January 27. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India.

"Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold the first India-Central Asia Summit with the participation of the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in a virtual format on January 27, 2022," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The press service of the Indian Foreign Ministry stressed that "the first India-Central Asia Summit will reflect the growing interaction of New Delhi with the countries of this region."

During the meeting, the leaders are expected to discuss further steps to bring relations between India and Central Asian countries to a new level, as well as exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, especially those related to security.

One might recall that earlier Berdimuhamedov and other leaders of the Central Asian countries received an invitation to become guests of honor at the military parade on the occasion of the Republic Day on January 26. However, the situation with the coronavirus, in particular, its deterioration has made its own adjustments.
