The Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Ghebreyesus shared with the President of Turkmenistan his decisions that he started the new year with, 2022. This is stated in the letter of the head of WHO addressed to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the New Year, published in today's issue of the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".

In his message, the WHO Director General noted that the last two years were extremely difficult for everyone, and, therefore, he started 2022 with three decisions.

His first decision is to work with governments, manufacturers of the COVID-19 vaccine and partners to vaccinate 70 percent of people in each country by July 2022. According to him, with equal vaccination, the world will be able to "put an end to the pandemic."

Secondly, the head of WHO decided to strengthen global health security by supporting negotiations on an Agreement to combat the pandemic.

And, finally, his third decision is to support all countries in strengthening the primary health care system.

"Therefore, I look forward to our continued cooperation in 2022, as we work to put an end to the pandemic and make our communities and countries safer, fairer and healthier for all," the head of WHO said at the end of his message.
