A new chapter begins in the development of relations between Iran and Turkmenistan. Iranian President Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi stated this today at a meeting with representatives of the Turkmen delegation.
According to the Raisi press service, the Iranian leader received a written message from the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the meeting.
Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi said that relations between Tehran and Ashgabat are on the path of development, adding: "We are determined to strengthen and enhance relations with Turkmenistan in political, economic, cultural and social fields for the benefit of our peoples."
According to Raisi words, bilateral meetings and telephone conversations with the President of Turkmenistan gave impulse to the development of relations.
The Iranian leader noted that Tehran welcomes the proposals of the other side in the field of strengthening and developing cooperation in various fields, especially in the field of energy, trade and commerce, and there are no obstacles or restrictions in this regard.
The Turkmen side, in turn, also confirmed its readiness to make every effort to intensify productive interaction in priority areas and said that it had prepared numerous proposals to expand comprehensive cooperation, especially to increase trade and facilitate traffic at border terminals.
