Schoolchildren from Turkmenistan are winners of Lutfi Zadeh International Olympiad in Mathematics and Informatics

Schoolchildren from Turkmenistan won prizes in the First International Olympiad in Mathematics and Informatics named after Lutfi Zade, organized by Azerbaijan. This was reported by the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

The main goal of the Olympiad was to familiarize schoolchildren with an outstanding Azerbaijan scientist and his contribution to world science, to strengthen friendly relations between talented young people from different countries, to promote interest in in-depth study of mathematics and computer science.

The Turkmen team consisted of 10 senior pupils from specialized school № 26 in the city of Dashoguz and specialized school № 39 in the city of Turkmenabat, as well as the capital's educational institutions - secondary specialized school No. 86 and specialized general education boarding school named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashi. The head of the national team was the teacher of mathematics Arslan Hojiev.

In total, Turkmen schoolchildren won five medals.

The winners of four silver medals were:

  • Orazmurat Sahetmuradov from Ashgabat specialized general education boarding school named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashi (tour in mathematics);
  • Jennet Zamanova from Ashgabat Specialized School № 86 (round in mathematics);
  • Abdulla Abdullaev from Dashoguz Specialized Secondary School № 26 (round in mathematics);
  • Gurbangeldy Gulladiyev from Ashgabat Specialized Secondary School № 86 (computer science tour).

Emir Vellekov from the capital's boarding school became the bronze medalist in mathematics.

The Olympiad was attended by schoolchildren from 18 countries of the world, including Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Bolivia, Israel, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Cyprus, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, Tunisia, Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka, the source notes.
