Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Alexander Blohin praised Ashgabat's policy towards Afghanistan at a briefing held today on summing up the results of Russian-Turkmen relations in 2021.
According to the head of the Russian diplomatic mission, Turkmenistan has always pursued a very balanced policy towards Afghanistan, relying on its neutral status, and has provided assistance to the Afghan people, regardless of what kind of government was in the country.
“This approach is correct, because, first of all, the people suffer from all political and economic problems in Afghanistan. Therefore, what Turkmenistan is doing is necessary and beneficial for the Afghan people,” Blohin said.
