President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved the new composition of the Interdepartmental Commission for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan, having signed a relevant Resolution today.
The document was adopted "in order to implement the tasks stipulated in the" Concept for the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan in 2019-2025 ", as well as the development of a high-tech and competitive digital economy through the widespread introduction of digital systems in the sectors of the national economy," the information program "Vatan" of the Turkmen television.
This commission was created in January 2020. The agency "Turkmensvyaz" has been designated as the authorized body for the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan.
The main activity of the commission is to contribute to the practical implementation and promotion of digital technologies at all levels of state and public life.
We remind you, that in July 2021, a new department was created in Turkmenistan - the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Government, under the jurisdiction of which all transport and communication departments of the country, including the Turkmen Communications Agency, were transferred. Former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan Mammethan Chakyev became the head of the new department.
When signing the document, Berdimuhamedov stressed that the formation of the relevant Interdepartmental Commission was one of the important steps to create conditions for the transition to the digital economy and that in order to ensure the success of digital transformation, it is necessary to consistently take measures in several areas, including the study of advanced world experience and the development of domestic personnel, scientific, technical and infrastructural potential.
