On New Year's Eve, the daily exports of three autumn fruits, kiwi, tangerine and orange, from the Mazandaran province in northern Iran to neighboring countries, especially Turkmenistan and Russia, increased significantly. This was reported by "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" with reference to the Iranian media.

Turkmenistan is also one of the largest importers of Iranian apples. Fruits from Iran are in high demand due to the optimal price-quality ratio.

At the same time, Turkmenistan has become a competitive exporter of fresh vegetables and fruits to the markets of other countries. Thus, EastFruit observers noted the sensational breakthrough of greenhouse tomatoes from Turkmenistan to the Russian market.

Indicators of export of fruits from the Central Asian region indicate that Turkmenistan occupies one of the leading positions. In the summer, 507 tons of early apples were exported from the country to the Russian Federation. This is 30% more than the volume of exports for the same period in 2020. And since in the summer period of 2021, prices for apples in Russia were significantly lower than last year, in these conditions, the growth in the volume of Turkmen exports demonstrates competitiveness, the source notes.
