Monuments to Magtymguly will be erected in the capitals of the countries of the Turkic world, and streets will be named after him. This was stated by the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreev, having discussed with President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the theme of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of this great Turkmen poet and thinker, which will be celebrated in the next three years throughout the Turkic world.
According to B. Amreev, “today the Secretariat of the Organization is working on a corresponding Program, which includes many events, in particular, international conferences, publications of various publications, scientific research. It is also planned to erect monuments to Magtymguly in the capitals of the countries of the Turkic world, to name streets in cities after him. Together with the Government of Turkmenistan, the Secretariat of the Organization will work in this direction in a wider format”, reads the material of the State News Agency.
Two monuments to the most revered poet and thinker of Turkmenistan were previously erected in Russia. The first monument to Magtymguly was unveiled in May 2018 in the Turkmen village of Edelbay, Blagodarnensky District of the Stavropol Territory of the Russian Federation, the second in Astrahan in May 2019. There is also a monument to Magtymguly in Kiev. It was installed in 2001.
Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreev arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the International Conference "Politics of Peace and Trust - the Basis of International Security, Stability and Development", which took place today.
Taking this opportunity, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States expressed his sincere gratitude for the opportunity to take part in the International Forum.
In November of this year, Turkmenistan joined the Organization of Turkic States as an observer.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his guest noted the significance of this event, which marked the beginning of a qualitatively new stage of cooperation between Turkmenistan and this Organization.
During the exchange of views on the prospects for further partnership, the presence of a diverse potential for building up mutually beneficial trade and economic ties, stimulating business and investment activity, and implementing joint projects was emphasized. Among the priority areas of interaction are transport and logistics, energy, ecology, the introduction of innovative technologies, etc.
At the same time, particular importance is attached to the deepening of traditional humanitarian contacts, which is due to the commonality of historical roots, cultural and spiritual values that go back thousands of years, uniting the fraternal peoples of the Turkic states.
