President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has been invited to the first “India-Central Asia” summit to be held on January 26, 2022 in New Delhi as part of the Republic Day celebration. The corresponding invitation came from the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, the newscast “Vatan” of the Turkmen television reported today.

According to Modi, the upcoming summit, which will discuss “a comprehensive approach to common threats in the region”, “will bring interstate relations to a new level”.

The “India-Central Asia” dialogue format was established in 2019 during the first meeting of foreign ministers in Tashkent, and during this time it has significantly intensified bilateral and multilateral interaction.

The Indian prime minister also invited Berdimuhamedov and a group of military personnel to take part in the Republic Day celebrations.

- I will look forward to your participation in the festive event and summit “India-Central Asia”, - reads the message of the Prime Minister of India.
