President of Pakistan Arif Alvi arrived in Ashgabat today on a working visit. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met him at the Ashgabat International Airport, the “Vatan” news program of the Turkmen television reported.
During the visit, the distinguished guest will take part in the XV Summit of the Organization for Economic Cooperation.
Within the framework of the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the priority areas of Turkmen-Pakistani cooperation. Berdimuhamedov and Alvi discussed new areas of cooperation in various areas, including trade and economic, fuel and energy, construction, agriculture and other spheres.
“Turkmenistan views Pakistan as a key partner in the context of building up cooperation with the countries of South Asia,” Berdimuhamedov said.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the construction of the largest transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI).
