Four clubs representing the top league of Turkmenistan in football – “Akhal”, “Altyn Asyr”, “Kopetdag” and “Merv” have successfully passed the licensing process, which is the main requirement for participation in the AFC Champions League and the AFC Cup.
According to the official website of the AFC, football club Ahal has successfully passed the licensing process to participate in the AFC Champions League and the AFC Cup in 2022.
Three more clubs – “Altyn Asyr”, “Kopetdag” and “Merv” - have successfully passed the licensing process to participate in the AFC Cup next year.
We remind that in the 2021 season in the Central zone of the AFC Cup, Turkmenistan played "Akhal" and "Altyn Asyr".
12 clubs from Uzbekistan passed licensing, 5 clubs from Kyrgyzstan. To date, according to the AFC, not a single club from Afghanistan and Tajikistan has been licensed.
