The Inche-Burun checkpoint on the Turkmen-Iranian border resumed its work on October 14 as part of an agreement between the authorities of Turkmenistan and Iran. This was reported by the news site CentralAsia.news with reference to the Iranian news agency Mehr.

Trucks carrying commercial cargo from Iran will be crossing the border, which has been closed for the past 20 months. The parties agreed that the goods will enter Turkmenistan by Iranian trucks, and Turkmen logistics companies will deliver them to their final points.

“The Inche-Burun border crossing was closed in March last year due to an outbreak of coronavirus infection. At the same time, the Bajgiran land checkpoint in the Khorasan-Rezavi province stopped working and remains closed to this day, "said the head of the Iranian Customs Department, Seyed Ruholla Latifi.

Earlier, Ashgabat allowed the opening of the Sarakhs and Lutfabad checkpoints, where special disinfection tunnels were built for trucks.
