Within the framework of the Turkmen-Uzbek forum, held in October in Tashkent, a Protocol on organizing the exchange of preliminary information on goods and vehicles transported across the customs border between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan was signed. The official website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan informs about this.
The purpose of the document is to simplify customs procedures and speed up customs operations and customs control.
The scheme of work using the preliminary exchange of information implies that the customs authority in advance, before the arrival of the goods or vehicle, receives information in electronic form, calculates the risks and the amount of customs payments, which can significantly reduce the processing time. Sharing information up front also reduces the amount of paperwork.
It is expected that the implementation of the Protocol on the preliminary exchange of customs data between the customs services of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will significantly reduce the time for customs clearance operations and customs control of objects moved through customs checkpoints, thereby contributing to the development and expansion of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
