International forum of medical scientists opened in Ashgabat

Today, in Ashgabat, the international forum of medical scientists "Medical diplomacy - the basis of a healthy world" has started in the conference hall of the Yildiz hotel.

The International Conference, organized in a hybrid format, brought together representatives from different European countries to discuss issues related to using the experience gained during the COVID-19 pandemic and preventing the spread of infectious diseases.

The conference is attended by heads of ministries of health and international organizations.

A delegation of the staff of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, headed by Dr. Hans Kruge, arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the forum.

The conference agenda includes a review of the role of medical diplomacy in achieving progress in the fight against infectious diseases, as well as digitalization in public health, issues of vaccination against COVID-19, and ensuring universal access to vaccines to achieve universal coverage of medical services.

Additionally, the states will exchange the experience gained during the COVID-19 pandemic and discuss its future use.

Earlier, we reported that on October 7, the Director of the Regional Office for Europe of the World Health Organization Hans Kluge arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the international forum of medical scientists "Medical diplomacy - the basis of a healthy world ". Yesterday he participated in the meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
