Sesame in the Dashoguz velayat is cultivated in large volumes for the second year in a row. From each of the 350 hectares of sown areas this year, it is planned to collect at least 10 centners of the harvest, "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" reports.
Sesame is mainly used to make cold-pressed gourmet oil. In terms of taste, it belongs to the best vegetable oils, as it is well balanced in terms of the content of essential amino acids, vitamins, polyunsaturated acids, macro- and microelements and other biological active substances. Experts also believe that it contains more calcium than most other foods.
Formed during the production of oil seed cake is a valuable feed for livestock.
The culture of sesame cultivation in the region has a rich history. This is evidenced by the preserved ancient home-made juvaz - small oil mills, and recipes for making pilaf and other dishes in sesame oil, the source notes.
