Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived in Turkmenistan today. Associated Press Pakistan reports.
At the Ashgabat international airport, Qureshi was greeted by Pakistani Ambassador to Turkmenistan Irfan Ahmed and high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country.
The head of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry will be received by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. He will also meet with his Turkmen counterpart Rashid Meredov.
It is expected that one of the central topics of the talks will be the situation in Afghanistan.
The talks will also discuss issues related to the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project.
Turkmenistan became the third country in Qureshi's tour of the states bordering Afghanistan. The day before, he visited Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
