The production of a new brand of aviation fuel - Jet A-1 - has begun at the Turkmenbashi oil processing complex, the official website of the TOPC tngizt.gov.tm reports.
This type of fuel is the European analogue of aviation kerosene TS-1, which is also produced at the TCoOR. Jet A-1 is used in gas turbine engines of passenger aircraft, including Airbus and Boeing airliners.
New products from the TOPC meet all international aviation standards and are certified by the Main State Service “Turkmenstandartlary”. Jet A-1 fuel is produced by deep purification of raw materials, at a unit with a capacity of 525 thousand tons per year. The complex was designed and supplied by the American company “Merichem Chemicals Refinery Services LLC”, the assembly and installation was carried out by Turkmen specialists.
Expanding the range of light oil products produced and increasing their production is one of the main tasks set by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the country's petrochemists. Thanks to large-scale modernization, today the TOPC is the largest producer of gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, and polypropylene in the region, which are regularly exported abroad.
The first batch of Jet A-1 will be sold through the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange.
