Preparations for the 30th Anniversary International Conference and Exhibition "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2025" (OGT 2025) have entered an active phase: at the moment, more than 100 delegates have confirmed their participation, including representatives of leading energy companies, financial institutions and regional organizations. The event will be held from October 22 to 24 in Ashgabat under the motto "Energy. Innovation. Growth".
The anniversary conference marks a turning point for the region’s energy strategy, highlighting both Turkmenistan’s significant hydrocarbon potential and its growing commitment to clean energy. Delegations from more than 60 countries are expected to attend.
Official conference partners include S&P Global Platts, which will host a series of closed expert roundtables, including the global oil and gas outlook for 2025-2030, petrochemical market analytics, and the digitalization of trading platforms. The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and Gaffney Cline will host technical sessions focusing on underground gas storage and carbon capture.
The keynote speeches at the conference will be delivered by renowned international experts: Pulitzer Prize winner Daniel Yergin (Vice President of S&P Global), Director of the Asian Development Bank Representative Office in Turkmenistan Artur Andrysiak and Senior Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies Julian Bowden.
Along with major hydrocarbon projects such as the "Galkynysh" field and the TAPI gas pipeline, Turkmenistan's course towards developing renewable energy will be presented at OGT 2025. A striking example will be the hybrid solar-wind power plant near Lake Altyn Asyr, implemented within the framework of the Renewable Energy Law of 2021.
