Time for entrance exams has begun in Turkmenistan

In the middle of this week, after the stage of accepting documents from applicants in higher and most secondary vocational schools of our country, the relay race of entrance exams started, the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan” reports.

The examination campaign takes place in the capital and in velayat centers according to the schedule developed specifically for each specialized educational institution.

On July 28, the entrance examinations to the Turkmen State University named after Mahtumkuli among the applicants of Balkan velayat began. The exams will run until July 30th. Further, from 1 to 4 August, Dashoguz velayat will enter the examination period.

After entrance exams in Ashgabat, Ahal and Mary velayats, applicants from Lebap velayat will apply for the status of first-year students of TSU, where the traditional test of knowledge will take place from 21 to 23 August.

According to the same scheme, the marathon of entrance exams, which in total will last in Turkmenistan until August 27, will be held in all higher and secondary vocational schools.

The first among universities will be recruited by the Turkmen Agricultural Institute in Dashoguz and the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi in Turkmenabat. The timing of the introductory campaign, respectively, is from July 28 to August 9 and from August 1 to 14.

The championship in demand for universities among applicants belongs to the Turkmen State University named after Mahtumkuli, where the largest number of applicants. Moreover, in the same university, the enrollment rate has increased by more than 1,000 in comparison with the last academic year.

The next in the popularity rating is the State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after Myrat Garryev, 858 more applications were submitted for admission here than last year.

The third place in the ranking of popular universities belongs to the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, which, compared to last year, also received significantly more documents. In the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi, the enrollment rate of applicants is one hundredth less than in the State Academy of Arts.

An equally hot atmosphere accompanies the introductory campaign that has unfolded these days in secondary vocational schools, the number of which, as you know, in our country is almost twice the number of higher schools, with the exception of only those universities that are subordinate to the power ministries. In a good half of vocational schools, the procedure for accepting documents from applicants has already been completed, in the rest it will continue until mid-August.

In a number of secondary vocational schools, exams and the procedure for subsequent enrollment in freshmen of the most successful applicants will be completed before the end of the first decade of August. Among them are vocational schools of pedagogical and medical training, special schools in the field of arts and music education. The latter will make the recruitment of “recruits” professional schools with a training profile for financial and economic, trade and cooperative and banking structures, architectural and construction and agricultural departments of the national economy. This list also includes vocational schools for training aviation personnel, specialists for the publishing and printing industry, the tourism industry, the oil and gas industry, personnel for working on railway transport, as well as some other educational institutions.

Thus, the admission campaign to secondary and higher professional educational institutions of our country has reached the most crucial stage.

Let us recall that this year the number of new areas of specialized training has noticeably increased in higher educational institutions. In total, universities will train personnel in 32 new specialties, of which 28 are included in the bachelor's program, the rest - four - in the specialty system. In addition, the number of specialties in the Master's program has increased in 7 universities.
