In January 2021, the trade turnover between Austria and Turkmenistan amounted to 300 thousand euros. This was reported by Trend with reference to the Austrian Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs.
The ministry noted that various types of equipment, medicines and pharmaceuticals, food products, perfumes, detergents and cleaning products were in-demand types of export products in 2020.
In 2020, the main imports from Turkmenistan to Austria were communications equipment, vegetables and fruits, clothing and accessories.
The ministry notes that Austrian companies are interested in cooperation in the energy sector of Turkmenistan, including renewable energy sources, as well as in the field of environmental technologies (water and waste management), medical technologies and pharmaceuticals, agriculture, food processing, infrastructure and digitalization.
