Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov will pay a visit to Ankara on February 22-24.
According to a decree signed today by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry in the Turkish capital will take part in the Turkmen-Turkish inter-media consultations, as well as Turkmenistan-Turkey-Azerbaijan trilateral dialogue at the level of foreign ministers.
It is expected that one of the talks between the heads of the foreign ministries of the three countries will be the possibility of withdrawing Turkmen energy to Europe after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Exploration, Development of the Hydrocarbon Field “Dostluk” on the Caspian Sea on January 21, 2021 in Ashgabat.
Earlier, as reported, the Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the occasion:
“We welcome the agreement between Azerbayjan and Turkmenistan on joint exploration and development of the “Dostluk” hydrocarbon field in the Caspian Sea ... We also want this agreement to pave the way for energy security projects in Turkey and the rest of Europe ...”
