Ukraine, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were among the three leaders in the import of potatoes from Russia at the end of 2020, according to the “Agrotime” magazine.

According to the information, 174 thousand tons were exported to Ukraine, which is 11% more than the same period in 2019, at a cost of 16 million US dollars.

At the end of 2020, Turkmenistan took the second place, developing its own potato growing. Our country bought 34 thousand tons of potatoes in Russia for 11 million US dollars, while the same last year's figure was 308 tons for 90 thousand US dollars. Due to the fact that our country is actively developing the potato growing sector, two-thirds of the volume imported by Turkmenistan fell on seed potatoes.

Uzbekistan also significantly increased supplies: in value terms, exports to this country increased 11 times to 8.2 million US dollars, in physical terms - 50 times to 83 thousand tons.

The main buyers of Russian seed potatoes are Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Turkmenistan, Belarus. And table potatoes are in demand in Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Moldova, Tajikistan.
