Trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Iran has grown by 300% since the end of August 2020 compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Gholam Abbas Arbab Khales informed IRNA agency about it.
“Trade resumed after the opening of border customs points, the closure of which was associated with the spread of coronavirus infection,” an Iranian diplomat told IRNA.
In accordance to him, exports and imports by the Iran-Turkmenistan road and railways have significantly increased over this period compared to 2019.
Turkmenistan and Iran border on the Caspian Sea and have a long land border. Within the framework of good-neighborliness, Turkmenistan supports trade relations with Iran in every possible way.
