President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov abolished the position of deputy editor in some newspapers without changing the staffing table. The head of state signed the corresponding Resolution “in order to improve the activities of the publishing industry, as well as newspaper editorial offices”.
The Turkmen State Publishing Service, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population were instructed, together with the Ministry of Justice, to prepare and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers proposals on amendments and additions arising from this Resolution to the legislation within a month.
As it became known to “Turkmenportal”, the above changes will not affect the editorial offices of daily newspapers.
Speaking at the extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in Lebap, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the special role of the media in familiarizing the international community with the country's achievements.
Having signed the submitted document, the head of state drew attention to the special importance of the systematic improvement of media activities in the context of the tasks facing national journalism at the present stage, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported today.
