A regular issue of the quarterly popular science journal “Miras” published by the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Makhtumkuli of the Academy of Sciences has been published in Turkmenistan. Addressed to a wide range of readers, the publication continues a series of publications about new discoveries and research results of the historical, cultural and spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people.

The final edition of 2020 is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality, a historical date under which all events took place last year.

The statements of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov about the neutral status of the country, given on the first pages of the publication, determined the tone of all publications of the issue. The cover of the magazine was decorated with a sculptural image of the Monument of Neutrality of Turkmenistan.

The traditional section “Discoveries and New Developments” contains an article by Sinan Dinch, a lecturer at the Department of Literature at Ataturk University of the Republic of Turkey, Doctor of Philology. The author of the publication “Alp Arslan - an example of humanism” draws a parallel between the historical events of the glorious past of the Turkmen and the modern achievements of our neutral country, which, according to the scientist, are proud not only of the Turkmen people, but also of the Turkish brothers.

Sinan Dinch took as the basis of his research the event of the times of the great Seljuk ruler Alp Arslan, namely, the Malazgirt (Manzikert) battle, in which the army of the great Turkmen commander, significantly outnumbered by the army of the Byzantine emperor Roman Diogenes, won.

The article “Neutrality of Turkmenistan - the correct criterion of humanism” emphasizes the inseparable connection of the roots of Turkmen neutrality with the centuries-old history of our people, its spiritual values.

At the same time, the author, using specific examples of the implementation of energy and environmental diplomacy by Turkmenistan, a number of international conventions, demonstrates the focus of this status of our country for the future. Turkmen neutrality is the guarantor of a peaceful and safe life for mankind, the path of friendship and brotherhood of the peoples of the planet, the scientist claims.

The author of the article “The Empire of the Turkmen Horezmshahs - Anushteginids and Sultan Jelaleddin” plunges readers into the depths of history, which also finds confirmation of the antiquity of the roots of Turkmen neutrality.

“Turkmenistan-UNESCO: Development of International Cultural Cooperation” is the topic of the publication, where the neutrality status of our state is considered as an effective tool for establishing and expanding interstate partnership.

Noting the versatility of our country's constructive dialogue with the United Nations, the author of the article tells in detail about the interaction with the United Nations on education, science and culture (UNESCO).

The section “Interaction of cultures, peoples and civilizations” contains the article “The roots of neutrality in Turkmen literature”, which contains a wealth of factual material on this topic. The study provides the reader with an opportunity to assess the importance of folk art, including proverbs and wise sayings, as well as poetic works reflecting the peacefulness, tolerance and mercy of the Turkmen people.

The events of the historical past are covered by an article dedicated to the Turkmen-Indian relations “Rulers-Turkmen in the Indian Decan Peninsula”. The author cites well-known and little-studied facts testifying to the fruitfulness of the friendly ties of the peoples of the two countries going back centuries.

The magazine also contains an article ‘The Modern Model of Consolidation of Humanist Relations” - about the cooperation of our independent neutral Motherland with the Community of Nations. As the author emphasizes, over 25 years of neutral status, Turkmenistan has organized a huge number of events aimed at solving regional and global problems on the basis of the principles of peacefulness and mutual understanding.

The Chronicle of Scientific and Cultural Life provides an overview of events in the social, scientific and cultural life of the country for the fourth quarter of the past year.

This section reflects the current events of the Year “Turkmenistan - Homeland of Neutrality”, demonstrating the consistency of the progressive peacekeeping course pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the successful implementation of a socially oriented policy.

Numerous photographic illustrations, including museum and archival artifacts, serve as an excellent addition to the articles of the “Miras” magazine, published in Turkmen, English and Russian, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported today.
