One of the key vectors of Turkmenistan's foreign policy, consistently implemented by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, is the strengthening of friendly relations with neighboring states, including the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

Today our countries are fruitfully cooperating in the trade and economic sphere, implementing important energy, transport and communication projects. Among them are the Akina-Andhoy railway, new fiber-optic communication lines between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, the laying of the Afghan section of the interstate energy piping - the TAPI pipeline.

In accordance to the National Statistics and Information Administration of Afghanistan (NSIA), Turkmenistan ranks first in terms of gasoline supplies to Afghanistan, and is also among the three largest suppliers of diesel fuel and liquefied gas.

So, for 9 months of this year, more than 337 thousand tons of motor gasoline and about 40 thousand tons of diesel fuel of various brands, more than 147 thousand tons of liquefied gas, more than 4 thousand tons of gas condensate, about 1.4 thousand tons of polypropylene and other products of the oil and gas complex, worth more than 230 million US dollars.

In addition, duty-free supplies of oil products to the IRA were carried out, including more than 140 thousand tons of diesel fuel, 30 thousand tons of aviation kerosene, etc. Their cost in the first three quarters of the year amounted to more than 180 million dollars.

We add that the bulk of these products are delivered to the neighboring country by the Atamurat-Akina railway, through the terminal for receiving, storing and shipping oil products in Ymamnazar on the Turkmen-Afghan border.
