The President of Turkmenistan approved the volume of the agricultural land fund

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved the volume of agricultural land Fund areas for joint-stock companies, daikhan farms, other legal entities and citizens of Turkmenistan, the information program "Watan" of the Turkmen television reported.

In accordance with the Decree signed by the head of state today, land plots from the special land Fund will be transferred to producers for use for a period of 99 years for growing wheat, cotton and other agricultural crops included in the state order on a contractual basis on 70 percent of the stipulated areas, and the remaining land will be sown with other crops for conducting a scientifically based crop rotation. These conditions do not apply to areas planted with perennial trees.

Producers who have received land plots must enter them into crop rotation, having spent three years improving the reclamation condition of the land plot to be developed.

The Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection, together with the hyakimliks of the velayats, is instructed to issue acts on granting long-term use of land plots from the special land fund to producers, as well as to exercise control over their rational and targeted use.

The owners of land plots can keep the surplus products from the established state order plan at their disposal or hand them over to the state at the state purchase price.

The Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection is instructed to provide methodological assistance to producers in conducting a scientifically based crop rotation and obtaining a high yield on land plots allocated from the special land fund.

And the hyakimliks of the velayats are instructed to set a plan for the production of wheat, cotton and other agricultural crops included in the state order, and monitor their implementation.

These decisions in accordance with decisions of the first meeting of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan to further improve the reforms carried out in agrarian sector aimed at the "rational use of land and water resources, and the wide attraction of private producers in agriculture" the Decree of the President.
