Natalia Mochu (ITU): “I want to assure you that we are ready to develop our cooperation with Turkmenistan and provide the necessary assistance”

The XIII international conference "Türkmentel-2020" brought together managers and representatives of the field of information and communication technologies from different countries of the world.

Among the participants of the conference is Natalia Mochu, regional Director for the CIS of the International telecommunication Union, who highlighted the organization's activities over the past year.

"Despite the difficult conditions that have developed in the world this year, ITU continues to work on developing policies and tools that would help member States to create a more favorable environment for the development of ICT, attract investment, and create the foundations for security. To achieve these goals, this year we launched a new initiative aimed at supporting affordable and reliable connectivity of participating countries to e-government services.

Starting in September, we are conducting a series of cybersecurity training, continuing the UNICEF initiative to connect all GIGA schools, " she said.

In addition to programs, projects and initiatives, ITU offers a wide range of tools and documents that can help member countries adapt to the national context. For example, this year the "Handbook on digital regulation", "Guide to assessing digital skills", "Guide to child protection in an online environment" and many other documents, instructions, and manuals were developed and published.

Natalia Mochu noted that a Regional forum on ICT development for the CIS countries will be held on November 14-15.she invited all participants of the conference to participate in it.

"As the head of ITU in the region, I want to assure you of our readiness to develop our cooperation with Turkmenistan and provide the necessary assistance," she said in conclusion.

ITU members are entering an active stage of preparation for the ITU world conference, which is scheduled for November 2021. The conference should develop proposals and solutions that will contribute to the digital transformation of countries, Natalia Mochu added: "We hope that Turkmenistan will actively participate in the preparation of the conference and participate in it."
